In partnership with Gracie Jiu-Jitsu of Alexandria, we now offer Gracie's Women's Empowered program. Like all our programs, this class teaches practical self-defense techniques you can use -- with a particular focus on ground techniques. Each weekly class covers a different technique with plenty of time to practice and focus on building muscle memory so you can react quickly and effectively if you need to.
Wednesday & Friday:
6:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Saturday:
9:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Our traditional, Okinawan karate classes include warm-up, fundamental practice, kata (forms), 2-person drills, and self-defense applications. All classes are open to any belt-level.
Tuesday & Thursday:
6:00 PM to 7 PM
Sunday:
12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
Give your daughter the confidence and skills she needs to stand up for herself as she enters middle-school or high school -- and beyond.
Our Fearless Girl program uses self-defense concepts from traditional karate, but without the karate uniforms and belt testing. Practical skills they can use to build the confidence they need. Moms (and any adult women) welcome to attend!
Sunday:
11 AM to Noon
Come and practice with a partner or get extra help. This isn't a formal class time, but you can use the dojo equipment, get help from a senior student/instructor or practice with a fellow student.
Sunday:
10 AM to 11 AM
We offer private, small-group self-defense workshops on request. We've worked with the Girls Scouts, Wounded Warrior Project, Junior League, local businesses, the City of Alexandria, parents who want their college-age girls to have some basic self-defense, and many others. Contact us today and we will customize a private self-defense workshop just for you!
We founded our dojo during the Covid-19 pandemic -- specifically to provide a way for people to challenge their body and mind through martial arts in a safer environment. We are happy to now be able to offer in-person, inside classes, as well as Zoom classes for those who can't join in person.
All staff are vaccinated and vaccination is encouraged among students. Masks are required for students who are not fully vaccinated and boosted.
Dojo is cleaned after each session, and virus-killing UV lights are used between sessions.
